Living with diabetes can be a real bummer sometimes. Are we right?

Thankfully, there are diabetes accessories out there that are actually fun! We have compiled a list of some of our favorites and hope that you’ll think they’re as fun as we do. After all, having a sense of humor can make a huge difference for morale.

The sky’s the limit when it comes to finding fun accessories. There are fun pump bags, Omnipod patches, logbooks, glucose meters, kid-friendly finds, and many other wonderful products. This is your chance to make the best of something that is otherwise discouraging. Browse through our recommendations below and tell us which ones were your favorites. It’s time to style that broken pancreas!

Glucose Meter Stickers

From Pimp My Diabetes

The folks over at Pimp My Diabetes (you read that right) have some really fun glucose meter stickers. Diabetes patients are constantly staring down at their glucose meters. Why not enjoy the view?

PMD has an array of designs including flowers, hearts, leopard print, etc. There are more masculine designs as well. You can see the full inventory here. Do you know what else is fun? Pimp My Diabetes also allows you to shop by your specific diabetic device so that you find the right product quickly!

Accessory Bags

You’ll obviously need something to carry your glucose meter in, right? Why not trade that boring black canvas bag you have for something worth laughing at?

Everyone knows that Etsy has a lot of home decor and crafts to offer. We were excited to find that the sellers’ creativity extends to supply bags, too. There are a few bags that caught our eye. When it comes to hauling your stuff around, we recommend the “Dead Pancreas Society” bag. This particular Etsy shop also sells an “Insulin Addict” bag. Have fun shopping!

Show that you mean business to your diabetes with this Rosie the Riveter-inspired “Type One Tough” accessory bag. It’s machine washable, and there are various color options (black, green, purple, gray, and more) and texts available. In addition, it receives high reviews. As My Diabetic Life says in the description of the product, there is “nothing like keeping your pancreas in a bag… and why not make your pancreas look fabulous since it’s carried on the outside?” Keep your pens, meters, and logbooks in this convenient accessory bag that makes it easy for traveling with your diabetes accessories.

Another awesome accessory bag from the good folks at My Diabetic Life Shop, this one features a similar Rossie the Riveter-inspired design but reads “Unbreakable.” This bag also has all the great color options as the first one, so you can customize it to fit your style!

Fun for the Kids

Dinosaur medical ID bracelet
From American Medical ID

If anyone needs some fun accessories, it’s the kids that fight diabetes every day. We discovered some special finds for the amazing kids in your life. Of course, you’re not obligated to only purchase these products for kids. They’re so much fun, we say that there’s no age limit! So, adults, you’re welcome to shop for these, too!

These Omnipod stickers on Amazon are a lot of fun! There are cars, dinosaurs, and camouflage. Amazon also carries unicorns that can be found here.

It’s very important for children with diabetes to have a medical ID bracelet. Thankfully, those come in fun colors and designs as well. The American Medical ID website has these fun bracelets to choose from. You can make shopping for diabetic supplies fun by involving the child you love.

Diabetes Awareness Ribbon Hair Bows

Celebrate Diabetes Awareness Month in November in style with this adorable set of handmade blue and grey diabetes awareness hair ribbons with faux leather. Each bow measures three and a half inches across. The bows are made from premium faux leather with your choice of alligator clips or metal-free elastic hair ties that will be attached on the back. They come highly recommended from previous buyers and are perfect for anyone, regardless of age—one reviewer even put one on their dog!

Pins

Whether you want to put it on a coat, jacket, shirt, backpack, or tote bag, there are some fun pins out there that help raise awareness for diabetes. This one from Cure Up is perfect for showing that you’re a diabetes warrior. You can buy just one pin, or in bulks of 3 and 5.

Miscellaneous Diabetes Accessories

If you can dream it, then there is probably an accessory out there like it. Have fun with t-shirts that raise diabetes awareness (grab a few for your family while you’re at it!). There are bumper stickers, snazzy logbooks, key chains, hats, and so much more.

Everyone is unique, and everyone with diabetes has their own unique journey. Showcase what makes you you with a splash of fun and style.
